Our Mission and Charism

SINCE 1958, HOLY CROSS HAS PROVIDED A HOME FOR STUDENTS TO NURTURE THEIR MINDS AND THEIR SOULS.

Our Mission

At Holy Cross School, our mission is to help our students develop educated minds and faith-filled hearts. To do this, we value the uniqueness of each child, and we work together to help our students to achieve and grow. Most importantly, we share, demonstrate, and live the teachings of our Catholic faith, rooted in Jesus Christ.

Our school is inviting, warm and safe. Our instruction is specific, skilled and responsive. Our faith is powerful and alive. In this environment, our students thrive educationally and spiritually. What they learn here will carry them forward for the rest of their lives. They are leaders of tomorrow with educated minds and faith-filled hearts that are nurtured and developed here at Holy Cross School.

our school Charism

Catholic education is an expression of the mission entrusted by Jesus to the Church he founded. Through education, the Church seeks to prepare its members to proclaim the good news and to translate this proclamation into action. All true knowledge leads to the wisdom and love of Christ, infinite truth and infinite love. Holy Cross School strives to teach the message Christ proclaimed in the Gospels – “Go teach all the nations and proclaim the Good News.”

Holy Cross School is a Catholic educational community where character development is a priority; Christian attitudes and values are stressed, respect for the dignity and uniqueness of each individual is developed, and where intellectual development is stimulated and challenged.

The emotional, academic, and spiritual growth are recognized as being important to the happiness of the individual. Holy Cross School’s staff strives to create an atmosphere conducive for the growth and development of each child. To stimulate this, the students are encouraged to:

  1. Foster a value system based on the teachings of the Catholic faith.

  2. Think independently and communicate effectively in life situations.

  3. Stimulate creativity and an awareness of the arts.

  4. Learn that good health and sound body include desirable behavior, correct attitudes and a series of physical activities.

  5. Be concerned with the use of our environment and seek solutions to our current problems.

We at Holy Cross School recognize our limitations as well as our virtues. The school’s role can only complement and further the moral example and educational process instituted, nourished, and fostered by the home.
